语法一致

主语单数谓语动词用单数；主语复数谓语动词用复数

Both boys has / have their own merits.

Many people wants / want to go.

Either answer is / are correct.

Two girls was / were standing on the corner

意义一致

主语形式上为单数，但意义为复数，谓语动词为复数；反之。。。

people,police,cattle等名词虽然形式为单数，意义时复数，谓语动词用复数

Fifteen miles seems / seem like a long walk to me. #将这一段路当成一个整体

Fifty-six dollars was / were stolen from the cash register #56美金当成一笔钱

就近一致

谓语动词用单数形式还是复数形式，取决最靠近它的主语的单复数

在here,there等引导的倒装句中，当主语不止一个时，谓语动词与其最近的主语保持一致

Either my brothers or my father is / are coming. #离动词最近的主语形态决定单复数

Neither Julia nor I am / are going

and 连接：一个人 / 事物 / 概念
