• One afternoon she set out from the coast in a small boat and was caught in a storm. #be caught in被..困住
• Towards evening, the boat struck a rock and the girl jumped into the sea. #强调sea是一个立方体
• Then she swam to the shore after spending the whole night in the water. #游了一整晚更强调游到to岸边而不是towards岸边,after spending动名词精简语句，否则就是时间状语after she spend

• Early next moning, she saw a light {ahead}. She knew she was {near} the shore because the light was high up on the cliffs

介词

表目的地的空间上大多数时候使用介词to，少量固定搭配用for，表朝向用towards，精准的朝向地点/目的用at

to/for表示到达目的地，强调一个移动的过程  #to是高频，for基本是固定搭配
come\go\move\run\return\fly\walk\drive\ride... +to 
sail\set out\start\leave\make + for 
towards表示目的地，强调的是朝向
  He walked to the supermarket      他走到超市
  He walked towards the supermarket 他向超市走去


from表示出发地，强调始于
  He flew washinton last night #病句，缺乏空间转移的情况
  He flew to washinton last night  #他飞去某地
  He flew from washinton last night #他在某地出发起飞
  
into/out of
  立体单位的进入或者出来，强调但事物是个立方体
