The traditional Chinese hospitality requires serving various kinds of dishes which guest couldn't eat them at a meal. The characteristic(也可以用 typical) Chinese banquet menu includes the cold food served for the beginning, and the heated food after a while, such as meat, poultry, vegetables and so on.
In most banquets, a full fish is always regarded as requisite, unless diverse seafood had been served. Nowadays, Chinese people like to put western specialties and traditional Chinese dishes together at the same table. This is why that the steek in the table is common.
Salad has been catching on, although Chinese people generally do not eat any food without cooking traditionally. The banquet in most cases has at least a soup, which can be placed at first as well as in the end. Desserts and fruits usually mark the end of the banquet.
1、banquet,表示宴席(a large impressive meal ),而自己之前用的 feast 更多的用来表示正式的,欢庆的宴会(婚礼)或节日,不如banquet合适;
上菜这一动词,用了serve,自己用的不太合适,就不摆出来误导大家了;
