Steps to Create a Physical Standby Database
- Prepare the primary database.
- Set parameters on the physical standby database.
- Configure Oracle Net Services.
- Start the standby database instance.(startup mount)
- Execute the DUPLICATE TARGE DATABASE FOR STANDBY FROM ACTIVE DATABASE RMAN command.
- Start the transport and application of redo.
Preparing the Primary Database
- Enable FORCE LOGGING at the database level.
- Create a pasword file if required.
- Create standby redo logs.
- Set initiablization parameters.
- Enable archiving.
