Debian 项目在其 unstable 分支中已添加了针对 FreeBSD 内核的支持，其中包括 i386 及 amd64 两种架构，分别为 kfreebsd-i386 AKA GNU/kFreeBSD i386 和 kfreebsd-amd64 AKA GNU/kFreeBSD amd64。现在，Debian 用户将有机会使用除 Linux 内核之外的另一种内核：FreeBSD 内核。
